What does Instant NDC mean?

Instant NDC technology is a patented process that enables bar code scanners to internally translate the drug manufacturers NDC bar code into the complete 11-digit NDC number used by most computer systems today. Thus the NDC Smart line of bar code scanners "instantly" generate the 11-digit NDC number.
